Without vision the people perish ~Proverbs 29:18

Vision is the ideal goal that we as a church strive for collectively.  It cannot be accomplished by man-made efforts, rather it will take God's grace and power to accomplish it.  At Fort Osage Church of the Nazarene we are simply becoming:

A Community

Devoted To Christ

We say community because we want to model to the world what a Christ-centered community looks like. Our community at The Fort is filled with people from different backgrounds and cultures, yet we are one.

  • We are unified together by the presence of The Holy Spirit who dwells in each believer.
  • We prefer meeting other people's needs to our own.
  • We take care of the weakest of those among us and help make them strong.
  • We give extravagantly and generously to one another, every chance we get.
  • When there is a dispute among us, we look to reconcile it quickly and honorably.
  • We make it our goal to live in peace with one another always.
  • Most of all we build each other up in the faith of Jesus Christ, until our appointed time to enter into glory.

This is our sacred community, our church family...The Fort

We Shape Our Surrounding Communities

As a church community we care for the geographical surrounding communities of Jackson and Clay County. We look to be a blessing to Independence, Fort Osage, Buckner, Grain Valley, Liberty, and Blue Springs. It is our goal to help shine light into any dark areas of these communities through spreading the truth in love to all people. We make it our ambition to bring the principles of Jesus Christ to homes, schools, and businesses.

Devoted

Our Community at The Fort is focused on one thing above the rest, devotion to Christ. We believe that the main problem is that the world has tried to take "The Christ" out of Christianity, making us just another religion, and therefore stripping our faith of it's power. We do not believe in "religion" rather we believe in a relationship with our creator, that transforms our lifestyles for His glory. At The Fort we want to learn true devotion to the god-man Jesus Christ. We believe Jesus was not merely a good teacher, rather He was and is the Divine Messenger sent from Father God. Jesus, is the second person of the trinity, born in human flesh. That is why we are devoted to Him above all else. Jesus is perfectly unified with The Father and the Holy Spirit. Jesus is our Creator.  (John 1)

We practice devotion to Christ through spiritual disciplines and acts of service. We are daily shaped closer and closer into the image of Christ, by the will of the Father through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Prayer and the study of the Bible are central to a devoted life.

This devotion extends to our daily lives through acts of service, loving our neighbors, and spreading the Good News wherever we go. As we fulfill our vision, our community will be an example of God's holiness on the earth, as we look to Christ to perfect us in love. He is faithful and will do it.

  • If this lifestyle of devotion to Christ interests you, join us.
  • If you need a new start in life, join us.
  • If you need healing and true power to overcome sin, join us.
  • If you have felt empty and unsure of your purpose, join us.
  • If you need true love...join us!

We welcome all those who are honestly seeking Truth.
